Human society is a complex and everchanging system. From the paleolithic period to the modern fast developing civilization history saw how society is advancing and can tell us what factors determine the destiny of society. Is it the way that how children are socialized the dominent factor? With a scenero of prosperous civilization of society in front of us still are there somebody believe that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring a better society? I can not agree with the author on his points above.
Admittedly, children's socialization is one of the important factors that can affect the society. There's a saying that "the nowadays of children is the future of our society", which illustrates the specific and irreplaceable status of our children. And through the education of generations and generations thousands of children, socialized, equiped with knowledge and abilities spare no efforts to construct the society. A socialized child knows how to communicate with different people and act perfectly in society. He or she can easily handle with different proplems and keep a healthy and correct life style which is a must for living in a complex society today. And a properate education on socialization of the children help guarantee a prosperous and efficient working society.
However, children's socialization is not the only one factor that determines the destiny of society, considering their other important abilities like profession ability, the skills of deal with varies of problems, etc. A children without knowledge of how to serve the society can do little to the development of the society. If a child even can not efficiently solve his or her own problems, how can you insure that he or she can help bring about a better society. Consequently, comprehensively developed children is the very need of our society but not only socialized children.
What's more, in the respect of children, they are no guilty of the deefficience of education on socialization of themselves. Today in the era of technology greatly changing our society varies of obstuctions and temptations put children in such a dilemma that they can not easily keep a way on the right direction. Adolescent crimes, children violence,many untisocial behaviors indicate that they have been sufferring a lot from psychological depressions in such a society. Society should first help construct a good environment and atmosphere in which children can better grow up before put such a heavy burden that they determine the destiny of society on them and ask them to commit themselves to the construction of the society.
Last but not least, the author's assertion that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society is warranted. No one can deny that we live in a more developed and much better society than hundred of years ago. People today have a better understanding of each other and can easily tolerent different cultures and people with differnt complexsions and life styles. Few er and fewer people suffering from poverty and different diseases. If we have not learned how to raise children, then how such a beautiful world come into being? The point is that on the way of education we still have many things to do and will confront with new problems in the future.
